Welcome

With Rifle and Pack (W.R.A.P.) is a site for lovers of history of all kinds. In the past, we've produced a whole heap of podcasts and articles on a variety of subjects, which you can access via the Archives tab above.

At the moment, we are reorganizing the W.R.A.P. site, and we will be relaunching it in the near future. We apologize if some of the podcasts are currently unavailable. We hope to reinstate them shortly once the site is up and running again.

'Good-morning; good-morning!' the General said
When we met him last week on our way to the line.
Now the soldiers he smiled at are most of 'em dead,
And we're cursing his staff for incompetent swine.
'He's a cheery old card,' grunted Harry and Jack
As they slogged up to Arras with rifle and pack.
     *               *                *                *              *
But he did for them both by his plan of attack.

The General - Siegfried Sassoon
